What We Believe…

As a church, we believe that a loving and meaningful relationship with God can start at a very early age. We are here to assist parents and caregivers in this journey with their children as they discover God’s treasures through a very real and personal relationship with His son, Jesus Christ.

Our vision is to lead children to a Jesus-centred life by loving God & loving others and by inspiring them to live for and follow Jesus.

What We Offer…

Discovery Community Christian Church offers an exciting children’s program that caters to children from infancy to Grade 5. Once children graduate from Adventure Island, they are then invited to join our dynamic youth team, which is “Thirst” for Grades 6-8, and “Encounter” for Grades 9-12. Here they will continue to grow in their faith and apply relevant, biblical truth to their daily lives.

All our teachers and helpers are fully trained and have police background checks.  Discovery Community Christian Church is a member of Winning Kids Inc. and use their Plan to Protect training to equip all our volunteers to work with children.  You can be assured that your children are being cared for in a safe secure environment.

How we work…

The doors to Adventure Island will open five minutes prior to a service. Children will be welcomed by dedicated and carefully screened adult and junior volunteers who will take care of your children during the service.

There are 2 touch screen notebooks on the counter in Adventure Island.  This is where you will sign in your child.  Simply key in your phone number on the screen, select your child(ren) name(s) and then their classroom, press FINISH and labels will automatically print out.  Put one label on your child's back and keep the other security label with you.  When you pick up your child(ren) simply give the volunteers your pick up tag and tell them your child(ren) name(s).

Please make sure to pick your child up directly after service.  This allows our volunteers time to visit with other church members as services are ending.

Curriculum:

We see children's ministry as a long-term ministry and a partnership with parents.  The partnership with the parents is what we want to drive and focus on more about.  We have found that if the parents teach the Bible at home, what we do in children's ministry becomes a supporter and it becomes stronger.

Our curriculum are Bible-based from 252 Basics, Group Curriculum, and others.  Ultimately, we want to make sure that the Bible is taught, the gospel of Jesus is taught, and we do it in a fun environment for the children.
